# Chat Activity

## How to create a Chat Activity

1. **Open a Pathway.**
2. **Select the + icon and then select Chat.**&#x20;
3. **Select a Chat.** Choose an existing [Chat](https://everyday-digital.gitbook.io/chat-docs/) from the dropdown.
4. **Add an Activity Name.** Name the activity (this will appear on the Pathway).
5. **Add a short snippet.** Write a short description of the chat that will be visible on the Pathway for desktop and tablet only (max. 90 characters).
6. **Activity Settings.**&#x20;
   1. **Required.** Determine if this is this a required or optional activity.
   2. **View Fulfilment.** Select this option if the activity is marked as fulfilled when a user has opened the post.&#x20;
   3. **Comment Fulfilment.** Select this option if the activity is marked as fulfilled when the user has made a comment.
7. **Save.**
