Delegate Location Management

With Cohort Locations you can opt to delegate location management to app users. This allows users with the Admin or Moderator Role to manage users at the delegated locations. This is useful as a way to outsource managing users to locations.

Built into role types are controls to mitigate escalation and de-escalation risks by only allowing users to manage below their rank. See .

The power behind outsourcing user management at assigned locations (especially in large organisations) is that Admins/Moderators can onboard and offboard employees without requesting access from platform tenancies. In the simplest terms, this democratises user management and content access.

How to enable this feature

To enable Location Management on your branded app, get in touch with your licensee support. Once in enabled app users will be able to:

  1. Add/Remove users. If they are assigned the Admin or Moderator role type, they can add and remove users from their location(s).

  2. View users. Users will be able to see users at their assigned locations and view details.

  3. Request assignment. Users can request to be assigned to a location. This will send a notification to the platform tenancy to review and assign.

Verification Options for Assignment Requests

If you enable location management on your branded app, you can set the verification level for location assignment requests:

  • LAX (Generally Not Recommended). Users can self-assign locations with location name and code. Users who assign themselves will automatically be added to the User Role Type.

  • BALANCED (Default). Users can request location assignments which are reviewed and assigned by the platform tenancy operating the app.

  • STRICT. Users can self-assign locations with a verification code sent to a pre-registered email address.
