# AI Generation

## What is AI Generation?

**The platform integration of AI technologies (OpenAI) allows you to generate content from a single topic with various settings.** Along with content generation, you can automate questions, articles, chapters, and stories.

To learn more about the AI tools available to authors, see: [AI](https://everyday-digital.gitbook.io/ai-docs/).

## How to create content using AI

1. **Open Authoring, and select the + icon.**
2. **Select the AI Generation content type.** You will be redirected to the AI Beta feature.
3. **Select + and provide a topic.** To generate content, provide a topic and select a tone to use.
4. **Create.** Select the create button to generate content using the AI feature.
5. **Use AI-generated content in a Learning Story.** Select the options menu at the top of the page to:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://everyday-digital.gitbook.io/authoring-docs/authoring/content-types/ai-generation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
